Java For Mac
This class provides the functionality of a 'Message Authentication Code' (MAC) algorithm.
A MAC provides a way to check the integrity of information transmitted over or stored in an unreliable medium, based on a secret key. Typically, message authentication codes are used between two parties that share a secret key in order to validate information transmitted between these parties.
Java content is common on the Internet. As of the release of Java 7 Update 6, you can download and install Java for Mac OS X directly from the Java.com web site. There is no longer a need to get Java updates from the App Store (or from Software Updates). To download and install Java for Mac OS X, just follow these steps. Get the latest version of the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) for Windows, Mac, Solaris, and Linux. Download Help. - Many Mac users don’t need Java on their computer, but if you happen to have Java installed and want to remove it from a Mac then you can uninstall Java and JRE with a little effort. Uninstalling Java and JRE from the Mac is a little more complicated than installing it, as there is no dedicated.
- A MAC mechanism that is based on cryptographic hash functions is referred to as HMAC. HMAC can be used with any cryptographic hash function, e.g., SHA256 or SHA384, in combination with a secret shared key. HMAC is specified in RFC 2104. Every implementation of the Java platform is required to support the following standard Mac algorithms: HmacMD5.
- The IBM Toolbox for Java / JTOpen is a library of Java classes supporting the client/server and internet programming models to a system running OS/400, i5/OS, or IBM i. JTOpenLite is a set of lightweight Java classes suitable for use on mobile devices.

A new Mac object encapsulating the MacSpi implementation from the first Provider that supports the specified algorithm is returned.
Note that the list of registered providers may be retrieved via the Security.getProviders() method.
